As the name suggests, Moonstone is strongly connected to moon and to intuition as well. It is also first and foremost a women’s stone, directly associated with the Mother Goddess. Moonstone has also been called Water Opal, Fish Eye, and Wolf’s Eye, and has long considered to have inherent insoluble connections to the moon and it’s energies.
In India, the Moonstone (named Candra Kanta) is quite sacred. It has a nurturing, reflective and calming energy. Moonstone strengthens intuition, psychic perception and meditation. It honors the feminine aspect of the self and so will aid women to become more fluent with their inner Goddess. It allows for greater flexibility in life as it soothes stress and anxiety.

Prehnite is excellent for visualizations of any kind. It facilitates spiritual communication through meditation and lucid dreams. It increases energy and strengthens one’s protective field.

Garnets are a natural stone. Garnets support the first chakra aiding in grounding and stability. The brilliance of the garnet is due to its high refractive index. Garnets are said to facilitate mediation, to enhance intuition and to inspire love. January Birthstone.

Rudraksha seed beads are dried seeds from the Rudraksha tree. They are used in the Hindu culture to create sacred garlands. Rudraksha trees grow on mountains and hilly regions of Nepal, Indonesia, Java, Sumatra and Burma. Rudraksha evolve from the eyes of Lord Shiva, "rudra" means Shiva and "aksha" means eyes. Aksha also means a group of alphabets in Sanskrit called (Varna). Rosaries made out of Rudraksha Beads in auspicious numbers like (108+1, 54+1, 27+1) are called Rudraksha Malas. The +1 bead is called as Sumeru (Guru), it is not crossed while chanting, and is considered the boundary for returning in the reverse direction for further counting. The Mala is used as an amulet as well as "Japa" (Chanting Mantra for Spiritual attainments).

Additional

**** A message about gold filled. 14k gold filled is not gold plated, it is a high quality product in which a solid layer of 14k gold is permanently bonded to a core of jeweler's brass by using heat and pressure. The gold will not wear off.

Please note the following information regarding precious metals:

Gold-plated: A base metal such as steel or brass is dipped into a bath of electroplating solution, with a lump of solid gold. When an electric current is applied, a thin layer of gold is deposited on the metal. Since the plating is quite thin, the plate (and hence the colour) on findings can wear off.

Sterling Silver: is a mixture of pure silver and some other metal, usually copper. The resulting alloy gives the silver strength. The standard is at least 92.5% silver. Hence the .925 stamp you see on some sterling silver items.

Vermeil: (Pronounced: Vermay) is sterling silver that has been gold-plated. Most of our vermeil is plated with 22K-24K gold. This is a good combination for those with allergy to normal, plated jewelry items. The difference between vermeil, and gold-filled, is in the thickness of the gold and the base metal used. In vermeil, the base is sterling silver.

Gold-filled: also called rolled-gold. These jewelry items are not actually filled with gold. They are made of a base metal (usually silver, brass or copper) covered by sheets of gold in a mechanical bonding process. Effectively a thick coat of gold: the gold content is 5% or 1/20 of the total weight. Use gold-filled items for your top-of-the-line jewelry. Usually made with 14k gold, it is hard wearing. With reasonable care it will not peel or flake, and should last as long as solid 14k gold jewelry. It is safe for most people with sensitive skin.

Fine metals reacts with chlorine and heat. Never take your jewelry into a pool or spa.
Please do not wear your mala during yoga asana especially on the wrists, it weakens the knots. :)

What are MATTE BEADS? It requires more steps than the traditional polished stone. The bead starts its life as a polished bead- its cut, drilled polished. Then, it goes back into the tumbler with a fine grit powder, water, additional tiny stones and tumbled to matte perfection. Each stone type requires a different amount of time in the tumbler, depending on the material's hardness and characteristics. Harder materials take longer (as long as two hours), and may require multiple tumbles with different compounds to get the finish "just right."
